Founder & Chief Pilot
Zach Daugherty
As a Part 107 certified drone pilot with over 200 flight hours and 800 flights as the Remote Pilot in Command, Zach has acquired much experience creating data acquisition flight plans and executing those missions safely and effectively. On the creative side, he is proficient in photography, videography, and media editing. On the technical side, he is proficient in photogrammetric mapping/modeling, thermal recovery, and asset inspections. On the back end, he is proficient in a variety of analysis software and GIS platforms, including Pix4D, Reality Capture, ArcGIS Pro, and QGIS.
Through his professional experiences, he has accumulated many skills critical to any industry including both written and oral communication, collaboration, leadership, coordination, problem-solving, organization, adaptability, and the ability to learn very quickly in fast paced environments. He loves working with others and leveraging his skills to help solve meaningful problems for the greater community.
Zach grew up in the small, rural farming town of Charlo, Montana. From early on, farm life and rigorous outdoor activities shaped him into a hard working individual with a strong desire to build things and solve problems. He went on to graduate from the University of Montana with a B.S. in Wildlife Biology and A.S. in Outdoor Education.
His professional background is diverse and includes landscaping, trail maintenance, carpentry, ranch management, geospatial work and over 12 years of experience in forestry and wildland firefighting. After moving on from wildland firefighting, he pursued education in GIS and drone technologies. In 2024, Zach started AeroScape Drone Solutions with the goal of providing a wide variety of aerial services, both technical and creative.
On the personal front, he has a deep passion for exploring the outdoors, seeing new places and learning new things. A majority of his leisure time is dedicated to outdoor endeavors such as mountaineering, rock and ice climbing, mountain biking, kayaking, skiing, trail running and scuba diving. He is also an avid traveler with a passion for photography and videography.
